Bobby and Olivia’s Alderman House wedding was such an honor and a privilege to capture. Not only are the two of our best friends, but Bobby is also a part of the Millers Photo + Film team and Kowan’s go-to second shooter at weddings. We spend so many weekends working alongside him and he brings so much energy to the team, so getting to photograph and film his own wedding was a pretty special experience.

The Little Details to Olivia and Bobby’s Alderman House Wedding
Bobby and Olivia’s Alderman House wedding was a bit different than some of our other South Florida weddings. We got to experience their wedding as friends, while also getting the opportunity to document one of the most important days of their lives.
This meant that we already knew a lot of the people attending the wedding and knew just how much everyone meant to the couple. It also made the personal details especially fun to photograph because we knew some of the stories behind them.
One of the sweetest surprises came from Bobby and Olivia’s first look.
Bobby’s Custom Suit
Bobby ordered a custom suit by Tweeds, but the most meaningful part wasn’t just the suit… Throughout their relationship Olivia had written Bobby letters and he had those printed into the lining of his suit. He used their first look to surprise her with it and it was one of the most special moments of the day.
It was an incredibly thoughtful way to incorporate their history into their wedding day. It held personal meaning that the two of them could fully appreciate and was a great reminder that wedding details don’t need to be large to be meaningful.
Olivia’s Big Surprise
Olivia had a big surprise of her own for Bobby. She had been telling him that they would get a golden retriever and gave him a custom dog collar to reveal the news.
The puppy wasn’t actually at the wedding, but we were able to capture Bobby’s reaction to the surprise and photographs of the collar. It was a really fun and personal moment that added another little detail of their relationship to the story of the day.
The Couples Surprise to the Guests
Another one of our favorite little details from their Alderman House wedding, as wedding photographers in South Florida, was the handwritten letters that Bobby and Olivia prepared for every guest. Rather than using traditional place cards, they wrote each person a personal letter and placed it at their seat for the reception.
We captured some really beautiful photographs of guests reading their letters. It was a thoughtful detail that gave everyone something personal to take home from the celebration.
One Last Little Detail to this Alderman House Wedding
The very last little detail that’s worth mentioning was for Olivia’s mom. She chose her mother to stand beside her as her maid of honor. This was such a sweet gesture to show just how close mother and daughter are and how much Olivia’s mom means to her.
Olivia’s Wedding Dress Story
Olivia’s dress has its own little story. She originally bought a different wedding dress, but just a few weeks before the wedding, she started experiencing serious dress regret.
She decided to visit Vow’d Weddings at Coconut Point and ended up finding her dream dress, with the wedding just weeks away. As one of Olivia’s best friends I got to experience the process with her, so seeing everything come together for her was a really fun experience.

As with any outdoor wedding, the weather was a big logistical factor for Bobby and Olivia’s day. Rain was forecasted for most of the day, and it started to drizzle just as guests were arriving for the ceremony.
Rather than pushing on through the rain, they delayed the ceremony by a little until the weather passed. Thankfully, the rain cleared and the sun came out, which allowed them to have the beautiful outdoor ceremony that they had planned.
They arranged for a tented reception as a precaution in case the rain decided to return. It was the first time I had photographed a tented reception for an Alderman House wedding and I thought that it all came together so well.
