Rachel and Karl’s wedding at Villa La Selva was one of those days I’ll never forget — a true dream nestled in the Tuscan hills. From the cypress-lined drive to the candlelit dinner beneath the trees, every part of this day felt like a storybook. They traveled all the way from our shared hometown of Naples, Florida, bringing their closest people with them for an intimate destination wedding in Italy. We met during their Vespa-themed engagement shoot (complete with Italian red wine, of course), and from that very first session, I knew this wedding was going to be special.
It’s no surprise so many couples choose a Villa La Selva wedding. The property itself feels like a private Tuscan village: sprawling vineyards, golden sunlight, and the kind of quiet that makes you take a deep breath and soak it all in. Rachel and Carl’s day was emotional, heartfelt, and full of genuine connection — from the heartfelt speeches that left half the guests in tears to the Aperol spritzes by the pool, it was the perfect blend of celebration and ease.
Some of my favorite parts of this Villa La Selva Wedding day were…
+ The light. The ceremony location is perfectly backlit — an actual dream for photographers. It makes everyone look their best.
+ On-site lodging. Everyone can stay on the property, which turns the wedding into a full weekend getaway.
+The reception setup. Long tables under hanging lights. The atmosphere at dinner was cozy, romantic, and totally immersive.
+The people. Rachel and Karl’s family and friends brought so much heart. The speeches were especially emotional — there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
